3+ Healthier Alternatives To Your Lifestyle Vices

Updated: Aug 17, 2020

Whether we like to admit it or not, we all have some lifestyle vices. They might make us feel happy, calm us down when we’re stressed, or give us something to do when we’re bored. The trouble with lifestyle vices is they are seldom doing you, your body, or your mind any good.

But, rather than completely giving up those vices, what if there were some healthier alternatives that you could take up instead? Take a look at these five examples and see if they are ones that you could consider for your lifestyle changes:

1. Become a vegetarian

Did you know that going on a meat-free diet can significantly improve your health and well-being? For a start, you significantly lower the risk of getting diseases and chronic medical conditions. Secondly, you’ll consume more fruit and vegetables. And, thirdly, you’ll discover a world of delicious dishes that you otherwise would not have know about!

Some people may tell you that you can only get certain vitamins or nutrients from consuming meat. The truth is, many fruits and vegetables contain the same vitamins and nutrients!

2. Become a vaper

If you’re on a thirty-a-day habit, you will no doubt be wondering if there’s a healthier way to get your nicotine fix. After all, each time you smoke a cigarette, you consume all kinds of toxins like tar and carbon monoxide.

Vaping is considered a better method of nicotine consumption, and it’s also more affordable too. Take a look at sites like Mt Baker Vapor to see how much you’re likely to save. Aside from the health and cost benefits, you also won’t cause people around you to passively inhale your cigarette smoke!

3. Become a bookworm

There is no getting around the fact that technology is all around us. When we get home from a day at work, for instance, we’re likely to spend much of our free time watching TV or going online using a mobile device.

If one of your vices is spending too much time in front of technology, consider replacing that vice with something more low-tech like reading! The great thing about reading is you can do it anywhere, at any time, and you don’t even need electricity to read a book!

4. Become a nomad

The sad truth about today’s modern world is that most of us are obsessed with materialism. People want to have the latest technology, drive the newest cars, or live in the biggest houses. There is no denying that we are anxious about the “fear of missing out” and so always strive to have the best in life, stressing ourselves out in the process.

You could instead adopt a more nomadic lifestyle, such as having simpler living arrangements like making an RV your home. For work, you could make or grow things in a sustainable manner, and lead a more eco-friendly lifestyle. Leading a nomadic lifestyle isn’t for everyone, but it’s a good way to lead a simpler, more fulfilling life.
